Deep Dive¶
The Deep Dive reads one partner country, or one development partner, in full — results across the four dimensions, who is behind each of them, and the co-operation reported for the round, on a single page.
Where the profiles are the place to look a single figure up, the Deep Dive is the place to understand a whole picture.
Choosing what to read¶
Use the Partner Country / Development Partner toggle, then pick from the dropdown beside it. The page rebuilds around that choice.
In partner country mode you get the country's own results, and how the development partners working there performed.
In development partner mode you get that partner's results across the countries it reported on.
What a partner country page holds¶
The context strip opens the section on development partners' performance: how many partners reported in the country, how many have a country strategy, how many disburse to the public sector, and how many put most of their funding through it.
Co-operation reported for the round. How much each partner disbursed at country level, and how far interventions draw on the country's own results framework rather than setting up parallel arrangements. These cover what was reported to the monitoring round, which is not the country's whole development co-operation.
The four dimensions. Each opens into its components and indicators, with the country's result and — where the measure is about partners' behaviour — a list of the partners behind it. A dash means nothing was reported for that measure.
Its place among comparable countries. Results are set against the average for the country's World Bank income group throughout, rather than a global average.
What a development partner page holds¶
The same structure, seen from the other side: the partner's results across the four dimensions, the partner countries behind each result, and the co-operation it reported.
Above the dimensions, a context strip covers how many countries the partner reported in, in how many it has a country strategy, and in how many it disburses to the public sector.
Reading the figures¶
Scores are shown as percentages with their colour band. Measures reported as words — the PFM trend, gender budgeting, accountability mechanisms — keep their labels.
A dash means nothing was reported for that measure by that country or partner. It is not a zero.
The reporting year differs between countries, because each reports on its own financial year. It is stated with the financial figures so they are read against the right period.
Common questions¶
Why do the financial figures not match national records? They cover what was reported to the monitoring round, not all development co-operation received or provided. Partners that did not report are absent, and the figures are as reported rather than reconciled against national accounts.
Why is a partner listed with no score on a measure? It reported in the country but not on that particular question. The dash marks the difference between "did not report" and "reported nothing happening".
How is this different from the profile? The Deep Dive reads across a country's or partner's results and adds context — who is behind each figure, what was disbursed, how it compares with its group. The profile is the complete indicator-by-indicator record, better for looking one figure up.
Why do some sections say a result is not available rather than showing nothing? Where a measure does not apply — untied aid for a partner outside the DAC, the optional private-sector module for a partner that did not take it up — the page says so. An unexplained gap reads as a failure to report, which is a different thing.
